General Information//Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a persistent, goal oriented individual with a consultative sales approach with a hunter attitude for prospecting.  This individual will be prepared to take ownership for a sales quota and be accountable for developing and closing new business opportunities within specific vertical markets inside of a geographical territory in North America. This individual must have excellent verbal and written  communication skills and be able to quickly function as a subject matter expert pertaining to GPS enabled mobile and wireless technologies inside of the Commercial Fleet Management, Telematics or Mobile Resource Management (MRM) market.  Applicants will be self starters and able to work independently.  The candidate shall demonstrate a strong ability to generate new business through cold calling, networking and referrals, delivering sales presentations and preparing business cases to  champion customer requirements in a dynamic and highly competitive market segment.

Job Functions

  • Individual will take ownership and be accountable for achieving a quarterly quota for the sales of wireless hardware and services.
     
  • Function as a subject matter expert within the Fleet Management/Commercial Telematics/MRM market segment.
     
  • Responsible for managing existing sales accounts and partners while developing growth opportunities inside of specific vertical markets in a geographical territory.
     
  • Provides total service to assigned customers which includes securing orders for products, investigating customer requirements for product applications, resolving problems and provide technical liaison between customer and technical personnel.
     
  • Identify new opportunities through outbound communications and build long lasting relationships with customers and business partners.
     
  • Follow up and qualify inbound requests.
     
  • Position requires business travel within the U.S (up to 50%).
     
  • Develop proposals and deliver quotations within corporate guidelines on products and services to prospective customers.
     
  • Prepare sales forecasts and close business in accordance with forecast to achieve assigned quarterly and annual sales quotas.
     
  • Develop sales strategies, materials, proposals and manage sales pipeline.
     
  • Responsible for development and management of major accounts.
     
  • Thoroughly understand and significantly influence the customer's decision-making process and lead the customer to positive decisions on sales proposals.
     
  • Identifies industry trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
     
  • Represents the company at industry conferences and trade show events independently.
     
  • Contribute to strategic decisions that impact mutual business and/or customer relationships.
     
  • Other duties as requested by team.

Job Specific Training/Skills

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
     
  • Proficient with Salesforce.com.
     
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
     
  • Knowledge of 802.11x, GPS and cellular (GSM/GPRS and CDMA) wireless communications products.
     
  • Excellent telephone/customer service skills.
     
  • Must be able to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
     
  • Must be able to take direction, be detail oriented and willing to go the extra mile for the customer.
     
  • Must be a team player with the desire to create a win/win solution for the customer and the company.

Position Location

Boise, Idaho or remote office in the Great Lakes area.

Education/Experience

College degree or equivalent work experience required.  Five to ten years demonstrable experience working as a commissioned sales representative doing end user oriented sales of emerging technology. Successful candidate will have direct and channel experience selling technology solutions like ruggedized computers, automated data collection hardware/software, GPS vehicle tracking solutions or wireless solutions within the heavy equipment, construction, public safety, utilities, field service or commercial vehicle markets.
