Job Title:  Sales Manager - Utility Market         Date:  May 14, 2012

Reporting to:  VP of Sales and Marketing

General Information:
Preco Electronics Inc. has been designing, building, and supplying innovative on vehicle safety devices to customers in the Mining/Quarry, Construction, Road Building/Aggregate, Utility/Municipality, Package and Delivery, and specialty vehicle markets for 50+ years. Preco’s products are built to meet the most extreme needs for customers who operate all around the world and demand high reliability products to maximize up time. 
We are growing our blind spot safety business and we are looking for someone with the interest and background to help build it. Preco is looking for someone with the energy and drive to seek out new customers and close business. Someone with an interest in identifying needs and delivering solutions that meet those needs. Someone creative, willing to learn, willing to take risks and willing to make mistakes. Must be comfortable in the board room and on the work site.
Preco Electronics is located in Boise, Idaho.   The qualified candidate does not need to live in Boise, Idaho to be considered for this position. We would like to focus on the Southwest U.S. territory for the location of this sales person.

Job Functions/Duties:
• Specialize in development and implementation of specifications for national fleets
• Act as a consultant to the business for competitive pricing, marketing practices and market and technology trends in our market.
• Works closely with on day to day projects for the Utility Sales Manager
• Foster product trial and qualification efforts between Preco and customer
• Build rapport, positive relationships with customers
• Actively participate in the development of business plans.
• Evaluate complex business agreements.
• Develop, direct and execute sales strategy.
• Generate and/or authorize customer quotations.
• Participate in industry forums and interact with high level management.
• Position requires frequent business travel (minimum 50%)    

Education/Experience:
• Bachelors' Degree in Business related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5-10 years experience selling to the Utility industry required to be considered for this position
• Must have current contacts at municipalities and fleets to be considered for this position.
• Experience selling safety products a plus.
• Experience working with OEM/bodybuilders a plus.  
• Must have fluent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office, etc.
• Proven track record in developing new customer accounts. 
• Must have strategic planning / execution sales experience.

Personal Characteristics:
• Organized, thorough, accurate, honest, strong work ethic, involved, enthusiastic.
• Must be willing and able to work without frequent direction (self-starter).
• Must have excellent multi-tasking, strategic planning, and time management skills.  
• Must be able to discern who the decision makers are.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Excellent customer service and program management skills.
