Preco’s Safety Alert Systems, or S.A.S., are evolving safety for the 21st century.  Traditionally, safety warning systems on vehicles have been passive and have not provided operator notification of an impending accident or fatality. The back-up alarm has become a a common place sound and needs the reinforcement of an active safety solution to warn of danger. Noise pollution around residential and industrial construction frequently on 24 hour schedules have raised valid community issues. By coupling our proven PreView™ collision Warning System with a back-up alarm,  noise levels are reduced, safety is significantly improved and accidents can be avoided.

The SAS works on a very simple principle, provide a higher volume warning and alert the operatoronly when PreView™ detects an object in the zone. This increases operator awareness, which can stop the action, and also increase the awareness of those around the equipment.

Without Safety Alert System (SAS)The Safety Alert System (S.AS.) from Preco is an integrated product solution that can achieve noise reduction without compromising safety by dynamically adjusting back-up alarm decibel volume when an object is found in a detection zone.

Normally a typical "listening" back-up alarm operates at only 5 decibels above the ambient noise helping lower worksite noise levels. When a stationary or moving object is within the PreView™ radar detection zone, the vehicle operator receives an audible and visual warning on the in-cab display and the volume will increase to 112 decibels, alerting the bystander to move out of the way.
