Standard PreView™ - Simple, Compact,  and Rugged

Preco's PreView™ Collision Warning Radar Systems are designed to help prevent heavy equipment collisions and accidents by alerting vehicle operators to potential danger in time to take action. From your delivery van to the mining haul truck, the PreView™ systems will work in all of your work environments and will take what ever mother nature can throw at them. Robust design and potted circuitry ensures the reliability of these systems.

The Standard PreView™ system is the third generation in the product line.  Designed to be compact, durable, and reliable for blind spot detection and collision warning. This unit measures 5.25" in diameter and 1.25" thick.  This product is very easy to install and operate.

The Standard PreView™ is a solid-state, pulsed radar object detection system designed to alert vehicle operators to obstacles. The system detects both moving and stationary objects in a pre-defined coverage area and reports the distance of the closest object via visual range indicators and an audible signal to a vehicle operator.

The Standard PreView™ consists of three major components: an environmentally sealed sensor, an operator display mounted in the cab of the vehicle, and a recommended external back up warning alarm. The system does not require frequent cleaning and will operate under harsh weather conditions, including temperature extremes, rain, sleet, snow, or fog.

Range and Applications

The Standard PreView™ system comes pre-configured and available in 10, 15, and 20 foot range sensitivities.  The diagram at right shows typical width and length of all three range options. Choose the coverage area that best fits your vehicle and job site.

Standard PreView™ can be utilized on almost any piece of equipment but it is designed for on-road and off-road vehicles, commercial vehicles Class 2-5 (Step-up vans, Utility vehicles, and RVs), Class 7 & 8 vehicles, school buses, wheel loaders, telehandlers, and other machines.

By placing the unit in an unobscured area, you are ensured to get the best detection coverage the system has to offer. See below image of Standard PreView™ mounted on a wheel loader.

Safety in the Cab
The PreView™ system can help save lives and help prevent damage to vehicles. The system is designed to detect objects, whether stationary or moving in the area of coverage and informs the vehicle operator of its presence.

Environmental Noise Pollution
The PreView™ System can be integrated with a Preco Bac-A-Larm© with an alarm volume to a level just above ambient noise until an object is detected within the radar zone, at which time the volume automatically increases up to 112db while warning the vehicle operator with an in-cab audible and visible display (see S.A.S.) This reduces the potential for back-up alarm desensitization and unnecessary irritation to local residents.

Rugged Design
The system is designed to be virtually maintenance-free.  It is resistant to environmental conditions such as moisture, dust, vibration, heat, cold, and sun glare. Tested to comply with the SAE 1455 environmental specification and the system is CE and e certified.

Operation
The PreView™ system is based on ‘pulsed’ radar technology measuring distance by the amount of time it takes for the radar signal to ‘see’ an object.  Distance is then relayed to the in-cab display and to the vehicle operator through a series of LED’s. The display unit also emits an audible tone that increases in speed as an object becomes closer.
